Sunday’s Zoom

May 18, 2020

Everyone,

In case you didn’t hear yet, our issue with the Fellowship Zoom was not an isolated incident. It seems Zoom has gone from some 10,000 regular users daily to almost 300,000. That, coupled with a new version release seemed to cause the issue many, but not all, experienced here on the East Coast. They had the issue resolved by 11:30 I am told, but alas that timing wouldn’t have helped us. See attached screenshot for additional information.

Although we dearly missed being able to see everyone yesterday on video, I feel better knowing it was not something we did that caused the error. Thank you all for your patience with this. If there are continuing issues moving forward, we will try Google Meet, which is now open for all to use.

See attached for details about Zoom’s outage Sunday morning.

Prayer request

May 15, 2020

WBChurch and friends,

Some of you remember Brad Fawcett and family. Brad shared with me that his teaching contract was not renewed for the coming school year. Would you please keep him and the family in your prayers as he seeks a new teaching position for the fall?

Thank you all for your love the the body of Christ and upholding its members in prayer.

Prayer Request from Jay L.

May 11, 2020

WBChurch and friends,

Jay has asked prayer for his brother Jeffrey. He had his kidney removed in 2019 due to cancer.

Test results yesterday show that the cancer has returned and is more aggressive than last year.

Please keep Jeffrey in your prayers as he walks through this battle.

May 8, 2020

WBChurch and friends,

I was asked to pass this on to you as a prayer request for Dawn’s niece, Nicole.

She has been in the hospital for a couple days for pancreatitis due to gallstones. Surgery has been pushed off until the pancreatitis is under control…tentative surgery is set for tomorrow.

She is a young adult.

Please keep her health in your prayers. We will update you as we are able.

Answered prayer

May 8, 2020

WBChurch and friends,

Thank you for praying for Chris, Sonya and Milton’s son in NC that has blood cancer. He has been struggling with an intermittent high fever which made his doctors concerned that he might have been infected with the Covid-19 virus. For someone on chemo, that would be a frightening risk.

I just received a call from the family. His test was expedited and he tested negative for the virus.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for your prayers and asks you would just keep Chris in your prayers as he continues to navigate his cancer.

Too often we hear the requests but the answers take a long time to come. We are rejoicing with the family for such a definitive answer so soon. "The effectual and fervent prayers of the righteous accomplishes" great things.

Sincerely,

WBChurch

Prayer request

May 7, 2020

WBChurch and friends,

Milton and Sonia’s son, Chris, lives in NC. He is battling blood cancer with chemo and has lately been battling an intermittent high fever. The family is quite concerned since his resistance is low due to the treatment for cancer. He has been tested for COVID-19, but has to wait for a few days for the result.

Please keep the family and especially Chris in your prayers as he walks through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

WBChurch

Back to church poll

May 7, 2020

WBChurch and friends,

This link is to a poll to help us begin to gauge how everyone feels about the idea of developing plans for our return to meeting publicly when we have permission to do so.

This is not a civil disobedience poll…just to help us fine tune a plan we have been working on for when the time comes that we are allowed to open.

Please, if you have the time, would you consider taking this poll for us?

You can leave your contact information or do it completely anonymous…either is fine.

This poll will only be open until next Monday, so just over the weekend.

Thank you ahead of time for helping us as we plan.

Petition to the White House…Places of Worship are Essential

May 6, 2020

Dear church member and pastors,

The Lord has continued to pluck at my heart every time I hear the list of "essential businesses" without places of worship included.

In times of community and global hardship, the church has always been the beacon of hope and provision. While the church now is told to stay home and do nothing, other organizations are mobilizing and receiving praise for their community endeavors. This drives deeper the wedge of animosity between our communities and worship centers/churches. The church is now robbed of being viewed as an answer for anything that matters in crisis; replaced by the government and community activists.

I feel it is time to let Washington know this is not acceptable. It is a false narrative being written about the church and forced upon her.

I do not want anyone to respond without a clear conscience. However, if you feel the same, then help me respond and help me get the word out that places of worship are essential.

A petition is being circulated that you can sign and verify digitally. Would you pray about and consider whether this is something the Lord would have you do? All I am asking is to pray about it. If you feel compelled to respond and sign, also consider whether you can help promote this as well.

HERE is where you can go to read about and sign the petition.

We the People

Please, no pressure to participate. Only do so if your conscience is clear about it and you absolutely feel compelled to do so.
